Experienced Designer and Consultant.

I have a passion for plants & a broad knowledge of gardening. I am qualified in garden design, permaculture design and teaching.

  • I aim to be environmentally & sustainability focused as much as is possible within a project, which can save money & help with carbon footprint of a project.
  • I specialise in Wildlife Gardens, Coastal Gardens, Permaculture design, edible grow your own areas and community projects: With a wealth of experience of how a garden will flow and work well for everyday use.
  • Planting Plans: 25yrs of gardening – a  great depth of knowledge about a wide variety of plants and ability to use the right plant in the right place – following one of my favourite gardeners ethos: Beth Chatto. You will get a planting scheme that will look amazing, thrive seasonally & improve greatly as the years go by.
  • Teaching 1:1 or small groups tailored gardening sessions and specialist pruning advice for private clients and gardeners CPD: To provide you with professional gardening advice & information sessions to make sure your garden look it’s finest.
  • With a background as an Artist Blacksmith & Sculptor, I find it easy to imagine how a garden design or planting plan will be in 3D. As the process starts I can start to visualize what will work best where, thus creating a stunning yet functional garden.
  • I am respectful, empathic, enthusiastic and passionate about my work & enjoy sharing knowledge. Providing specialist 1:1 teaching sessions about how you can care for your garden properly.
  • Have experience of working with disabled people and people with mental health issues; create suitable gardens for access and wellbeing

Qualified Garden Designer

  • I am qualified in Gardening, Garden Design, Landscaping, Permaculture and Teaching.
  • As an artist and sculptor the inspiration for the work I created usually comes from nature. I think working in 3D  enables me to visualise how a garden will work in the future, how all the design & plants will look.
  • Continuing to study Organic & Biodynamics practices for looking at soil & plant health, using a holistic system with plant and soil tonics that work for long term soil regeneration and ultimate plant health.
  • Twenty five years experience of gardening, fifteen years self employed, with the majority of my work through client recommendation.
  • I have been working with a small team of RHS qualified women gardeners and am offering specialist pruning CPD to them and other qualified gardeners.
  • Fifteen years facilitating therapeutic allotment gardening projects for adults with mental health issues. Six years creating and developing a successful therapeutic independent allotment project; enabling the individuals to rehabilitate into the community and run their own allotments.
  • Five years teaching an organic gardening course.
  • My previous Garden sculpture and pots: See organic ceramics for more information and images.

What Our Clients Are Saying:

Sadie and her team have done an amazing job of my front garden. It was an unruly urban jungle in need of some major TLC. The garden now looks amazing a happy home for bees and birds and the occasional squirrel. I am very happy with the results and would highly recommend Plant People to come and design other peoples gardens''
